Scott Wells
Assistant Men's Soccer - UC-Charleston

Wells joined the University of Charleston men's soccer staff in February of 2017.

A native of Coventry, England, Wells grew up in their academy system with Coventry City before moving to Derby County in 2003 where he stayed and signed full time in 2005. Wells then left County to join Sheffield Wednesday towards the end of the 2006 season.

Wells came to the United States in 2007 and attended Santa Barbara (Calif.) CC where he gained First-Team honors in both his freshman and sophomore years. In 2009, Wells transferred to Limestone College in South Carolina where he captained the Saints to a 24-11-1 record graduating in 2011 with a BA in Liberal Studies. Wells went on to play for the New Orleans Jesters PDL and had spells at OFK (Sweden) and Tamworth (England). He ended his career with his second leg break vs. MK Dons in 2012.

Wells' coaching career started with Premier UK Soccer where he was Director of Coaching in the eastern area of North Carolina, Wells also Volunteered as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Barton College in North Carolina. In 2014 Wells joined University of Rio Grande as a Graduate Assistant where he earned his Master's in Education. Wells went on to be full time assistant with the Red Storm where he was pivotal in leading the recruitment, earning them the NAIA 2015 National Championship.

After recruiting for the 2016 class that went on to be National Runners up, Wells moved to Nashville, Tennessee as Director of Coaching for Tennessee Soccer Club where he overseen their Player Development Academy. This took off after their partnership with Feyenoord FC (Netherlands) was confirmed upon Wells' Arrival.

Wells is also going in to his 4th summer as Director of Soccer for Camp Winadu (Boston MA) where he is responsible for all phases of a summer soccer program, guiding a staff to follow a traditional/ developmental curriculum.

Kelly Whittaker
Assistant Coach - Women's Soccer

Kelly Whittaker comes to Charleston after a season with a professional club in Sweden.  Prior to her stint with Alta IF, Whittaker continued her playing career with various WPSL teams while coaching for club organizations such as BUSA and the Chesapeake Charge.

Kelly attended Florida Institute of Technology where she received a bachelor’s in science for mechanical engineering. Whittaker was a four-year letter winner for Florida Tech, starting as an outside midfielder.  Her sophomore year she was selected to the NCAA Division II Final Four All-Tournament Team after placing in the final four tournament, losing in the semifinals to Grand Valley. Kelly's junior year she was named Second Team All-SSC and First Team All-SSC her senior year.

Kelly grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she attended Southern Leigh High School. She began playing at the age of four and ended her high school career with their first ever high school conference championship win
